  1. francisco, i got my paperwork all done. my car has a title and is legaly in my name now.

and crazyjohn he says he 'must' sale so he doesnt want trades. so you guys realy think my car is or can be worth more with the direction im taking it?
i can bring that other car back from being a r-r, just some wheels and a few changes. the channel is heavy and i get you guy on the size of the inside thing.

well thanks guys for the input, you guys are always cool. i love this site. if i can get my otehr vehicle sold, i will maybe do a build thread on the other.

You will be much happier with the lines and build you've got this far. If it means you need some help, trade-off with others who can (and will!) get yours closer to completion. Murphy was right, BTW, it always takes longer but in the end you'll be glad to see it thru.

I like what you have also. Remember his is for sale for a reason, it's a pile and he knows it. It is always better to work on what you have than to purchase someone elses problems.

This whole thread has me a bit confused. If the other guy's coupe smacks you right between the eyes and says "build me", then pursue it. If not, then don't. Sell the VW....... period. If you think $3K will finish your A coupe, I think you're dillusional.

    Was that helpful?

One final question.....the one you want to buy is outside, with an open stack on the carbie. Are yousure and have you heard it run???? Finish what you have you'll thank yourself when it's done.

I think you should build what you have. You've got a better start than me.

  8. antny-that pickup has nothing to do with me.

tinnman- how would it be more? the whole car has about 3 in it as it sits. including horse trading.what i have left realy isnt very expensive at all. i have more progress done nad more parts than in the picture.thats a older picture. it has the sheetmetal now, and the rear end is mounted.

dickster-no, i can honestly say i have. he says he drives it daily. of course i would ask more details if i was going to go down and see it. i can see your concern tho. i hope he covers that carb up when it sits.

ravedodger- iv got 3 cars into mine haha, i sold 3 cars already to get this car and get it were its at, it was just a body and frame with the lower body rotted off. its actualy a model A speacial, or at least it was.

I wouldn't abandon the coupe your building though ,I would not part with 6100 to buy it ,And then hopefully sell your volkswagon ,I would just drive the coupe till yours is done ,That's all ,But Dont use your cash.

keep going on yours dude-looks like it's well on it's way to being super badass. that other coupe looks like all the rest, except not as nice.

  13. thank you very much shooter. i do prefere the stance mine has, i like a little chop and a little lower, but nothing to crazy. even when done my car will be a bit rought, but she sould be a okay little car.

2 others had it before me and it was so far gone they got rid of it after they relized how rotted it used to be. i just saw some potential and didnt want a vintage ford to rot away.

If the area around the trunk drip rails is cut off (the old pick up out of coupe trick), that body is not worth too much. There are no patches to fix that area and finding just the rear section of a coupe for a reasonable price is getting hard to do. I had a coupe with the same damage and it took a long time to find the pieces to repair it.

  15. its cut on the curved part all the way to the 'trim' so to speak. im almost positive it was one of those wood pickup bed coupes. it has the part under the back window, but on the side were the body curvs to the sides of the car are cut they left the trim line down the sides but the rest is gone, no lid.

i just got another pick from him that shows it but it wont download for some reason. but it would require another rear body section im almost sure. i knwo some oen with a english wheel could make what it need but i dont have that nor am i that good. and he still wont budge the price so i think i will pass on it.

I won't knock the other guys car at all, I can't see it or check it out from my office 2 thousand miles away so it would not be fair to kick at it. Dude, you have clean paper on the one you have, excellent, congrats. I worry that you got a case of the big eyes. I can explain this phenomenom, if I can't spell it. The big eyes is when you look at your stuff, usually your chick and just can't seem to accept that it is right for you. You squint and you focus a bit but damn, every thing else just looks better, or rounder, trouble is that the big eyes really fuck up your vision feild, you lose all sight of an end goal. In the case of a chick it works like so, you see a honey that to your big eyes appears to have it all going on, your eyes tell you that you will get mucho gratis from this new thing, if only because it is new. So you trade away your chick for this new honey and your bud Tom is just happy to have your old chick. You move in all on this new honey that your big eyes said was all right for you. Well, shes a bit of a pig for a house keeper, shes got like 9 cats and you are allergic, she smells funny where she should not and her hobby is doinkin all your freinds and hey sometimes their girl freinds too. Oh and she has massive credit card debt. So forlorned you seek out your old chick who was by the way a bit of a honey and a looker herself, washed your stanky boxers and folded them for you, always chipped in for the til, and cooked you dinner, oh and your mom loved her. Well lo and behold Tom has her in a nice house with a sharp old skool falcon wagon as a daily and a bun in place in the oven, no chance of revisiting this, it's paradise lost.
Apply this to a car and I think this will be the exact story that is going to unfold in a round about way. Just lost your focus is all, get it back before you sell your faithful old project.

  18. okay so ill be selling my restored vw tuesday i think.

you guys realy dont think that 31 is worth 6,100? altho the back is cut and its missing the trunk.

is it worth it to swap my body on it? his car is not a stock frame tho.
