Building my 32 5w. Will start a build thread later. Mock up done, frame nearly done, now on to the body. Needs rails, floor and normal panels.

Haha, no I've just preoccupied with me having to sell my '54 Chevy and my '32 5w to get/keep this tub. It's still in Washington being babysat by CHRIS until I ship it. And yes, Family!!!! That was my main concern with this car. I want something for all of us to drive in.

Well this is kinda a cool project because I have so much for it already. Right off the bat I have everything to make a rolling chassis and a lot of other loose ends. I wanna use as many pieces on the car to showcase some stuff I'll be selling through Sugar City Speed Shop too.

    Build plan....

---Obviously a '32 frame (I have the one built by Ionia Hot Rods)
---'32 Wishbones Split (I have them)
---'35 Banjo rear with 3.78's (I have it)
---59a Flathead 4" crank (I have a flathead with brand new internals)
---Weiand 2x2 Prewar Highrise intake with 97's (I have all of it)
---Weiand Cheater heads (I have them)
---T5 trans (I have a rebuilt one with all the adapters and such)
    ---33-34 17" wheels (I have)
    ---5.25 & 7.00 Firestones (Need to buy....boooo!!!)
---Set of curved glass SW's (I've got half of what I need)
---F1 Box with tri spoke steering wheel (got it!)
---Lincoln brakes for front (got them brand new)

Overview is a black on black car with brown leather interior and brown leather hood straps that wrap over entire hood. I might brush paint the body so I don't get it too nice and I can still have the kids climbing all over it. I need a firewall and a dash right off the bat but those'll come once I sell everything else.

Stay tuned!!! Oh and anybody need a 5w? :D:D:D:D

  3. Hey man! That's ours, give it back!!;):p

It will be a very cool Phaeton when done, they look great with a healthy chop!

    Doc.

Mine is getting enough of the as yet unused building material thats all over the floor in its prorerplace in the structure, The rotary hoist stood up,and the small bridge crane set up in front of the rotary, the 2 compressors and the connecting pipeing, in thier proper place.Only then will there maybe be enough floorspace to bring my 28 chev 3 win back from toledo and do something to it.Maybe by spring........

Sounds real classy.. And should come together real quick too. I'll be keeping my eye out for that thread.

There WILL be a thread, right? :)

It s too cold in my unheated garage to do anything on the cars :p
So I usually make patterns for my casting projects.
For this winter, I found 5 vintage outboard engines to restore .
    The oldest one is 1929, there s also a 1933 and a 1940.
Small enough to be polished and rebuilt in the kitchen :p

Well, my proper winter project is turning this...

...into a mild custom taildragger. That means suspension, skirts, dual carbs and more. I've got all the major parts, and ideas.

But before I jump into that, I need to get moved to my new house and garage. Hopefully I'll have closed and moved before xmas, at least before any snow falls.

But before that, I need to get our daily project up and running...

Tires, brakes, upholstery, and tuning. This car will move from my current place, to the new house under its own power. Even if it kills me!

I'm in the middle of replacing the old wiring in my 47 with new. My research says a whole harness should take about 40 hours to install. If I get finished by the new year, I feel I will have done well.
I'm in virgin territory for my skill sets so I'm really taking my time and not moving to each next step until I feel confident that I know what's going on.
For instance, I've spent the last two days learning the difference between ammeter, and a volt meter.
I think it's like when I learned to rebuild an automatic transmission. Now I know why I will pay the pros to do it for me!
My one salvation is that Texas has pretty good weather until February or March.
I really feel for you guys that basically have to put things on hold until spring.

  15. well i am cleaning up the 1951 ford that i just bought, hope to do about 5 indoor shows and then more work on driveline and then hit the road with it
and still got the 1953 chev partially apart got the engine trans and rad in got air bags, exhaust and body and paint left
got to change engine on the 1963 GMC
and change engine , driveline, body job and get a interior on the 1941 olds 98
at this age that could be close to 3 years of work, and then theres repairing the cars thAT FALL APART HEAR AND THERE:eek:

Here's mine: '60 Chevy Brookwood two door wagon...454" big blok (on nitrous) with a built T-400 behind it...going to do a complete rebuild of front suspension, new brakes, master cylinder and all brake lines, paint the frame black, undercoat everything (it's a ColoRODo car, it's never been undercoated cuz we've never used salt on our roads in the winter...!!!), replace driver's side rocker and partial quarter, driver's side floor (window had been left down for years, ColoRODo snow rotted it out) and a general overall clean-up. Hope to have it roadable by spring...

Powering my 53 Vicky with a Y block 292 and AOD, and a general clean up to make it somewhat presentable...

Other than that, gonna sit back, watch my Pats win the Superbowl, and stay close to friends and family.

  19. well its kinda the same from last winter, spring, summer, fall. its full circle. it has been over 1 year since i drove the willys :(. so i need to finish the engine rebuild. if everything goes according to plan i might just pull the body off and rebuild/paint the frame. if i extra spendy stuff then i will see what other parts i can acquire.

I'm working on my buddys 30 coupe with a 1957 365 Caddy w/dual carbs, 39 tranny, 32 frame with a 39 X member. AND.... as if i didnt have my hands full... Im also working on my 29 Sport Coupe with a 324 Olds tri carb, 39 tranny, kicked up model A frame, 55 Olds rear, 15" Merc wheels, and a bunch of other goodies. Im trying to get these done by the GNRS in Jan. Do me a favor and lets all cross our fingers, rub a rabbit foot, hold a four leaf clover, throw a coin in a wishing well, and most importantly WISH ME LUCK.

Put the other 347 and 4 speed in my '57.
Same project as the last 2 winters.
Life always seems to get in the way, and the '57 runs fine the way it is.

Starting back on a Model A Sport Coupe I've had for about 10 years. I mocked it together about 4 years ago with an 8BA, 39 trans, 40 brakes and 51 F1 steering then bought a 60 T-Bird and built a mild custom. Just pulled the flathead and modified the firewall and will pull the body next week, hope to hit the streets next summer.
