I just happened to look at a really nice '24 Dodge 3/4 ton earlier this week. They're darn big for a pickup of that vintage:D

  7. Maybe Dodge Bros. But that's an overhead valve engine; looks to be aluminum crankcase with cast iron cylinder bank, mighty hi-tech for Dodge Bros. Course I don't know so that's why I'm asking. Also, I think it was built as a truck as it had a massive rear-end...

Buick I'd think. they made trucks long long time ago, and Buick has always been highly tech-advanced

Also I'd bet it originally started life as a touring car or roadster.

I'm going with pre-20 Buick car converted to truck. I helped a friend load and haul a 4-cyl Buick engine/trans he found at an old roadside fruit market. The construction was much like that one. Bought for $50, turned for $1500 by advertising in Hemmings and this was in the 70s.

That is Buick of same vintage within a Year or 2.

  19. Sounds like Buick is the answer, thanks guys! I would have grabbed it, but it was a long ways from home, located a few miles off a major highway connecting a couple of states, a province and a territory.
