Are wheel adapters safe to use? They seem like an easy way to change the bolt pattern. Some people say they'll kill bearings and others say they've been using em on a car for however long and it's still fine. What do you all think?
I ran them on my 302 Ford powerd Model A for about ten years. Never had a problem with them. Ran them for about five years on my 48 Ford, same story. They were brand name products, no junk stuff
I've worked in the wheel business for over 10 years. There are good and bad ones. It's just like anything else. Its all how you go about it. I ran them on my last 3 rides no problems. The bearing ware can becused by using incorect lugs. Once you have a adapter your wheel is no longer hub centric. By useing the right lugs you can center them with thin wall et style lugs. Excaliber is one off many companys who offer everthing you need.
I used them for 15 years on my F-1, had to tighten them up a couple times, I think the good ones are safe....OLDBEET
