At the last year LARS there was a vendor from Kentucky I think and he had a sea of NOS wheels. I believe his uncle had a tire shop in the 60s. There was no rhyme or reason as to their placement on the asphalt. I couldn't believe my eyes. I started pairing similar boxes. You could have a cool pair of wheels...but different bolt pattern or offset. Or 1 would be a 14" and one a 15" It was very early at the start of the swapmeet and it blew my mind that most people walking by didn't give a crap. Armed with my tape measure, I paired up a bunch and ended up buying about 16 to 20 NOS wheels. All in perfect shape. Pretty sure the ones on that car might have come from me. I'd never seen that style wheel before. They have a beautiful fluted center cap with a sort of complicated hold down setup for the knockoff. The wheels were so shiny it was crazy. Might still have a center cap. I live to dig and find stuff like this at swaps. It's awesome. From that same day...here's pair of Hollywood Barelas. Super cool stuff.
Hell yea man thanks so much for the info! Do you still have any sets left? I'm looking for some wheels for my 54 210. I was thinking about supremes but I'd be into some of these or maybe something else depending on the look. Thanks!
