Technical Wheel sizes on hotrod

I bought Kelsey-Hayes wires, 2-17's and 2-19's. How should I put then on my "old school" roadster

19's go the the rear. 17's go on the front.

 

My bent spoke Kelseys were 16" so I didn't have make a decision, can you find a tire to fit the 19" that has a shorter profile that the 17"?, If so use them on the front or sell the 19's and look for some some 16 or 17" wheels. HRP
