Looking for a part number for the rear wheel studs for a '46 Ford. They are not in the computer for my local advance and autozone stores. So of course they don't exist in their minds. I know someone has replaced these with off the shelf parts. Just trying to save time before I go in there with and old one and dig thru the bins.
I don' think you can get the original studs that must be swedged together (you can buy them at repo places). You can only get the regular press in ones and then have to ream out the drum holes. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/tech-help-removing-wheel-studs-from-48-ford.629318/ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/ford-lug-stud-new-drums.278605/#post-2975701
Go to a real parts store...NAPA or order them from someplace like Early Ford . HRP http://www.earlyford.com/
I bet you could get them from Roy Nacewicz Parts, (313) 383-3673, fordbolts.com Remember that they need to be installed by some that has the equipment (20+ ton press and other tools) and knows what they are doing. A shop trying to learn on yours can end up s****ing parts. Charlie Stephens
well, I checked my Dorman book, it only goes back to '60.. their website goes back that far, but shows nothing. Dorman is the primary supplier for all parts stores on studs and nuts, so you may not have much luck at a parts store unless you just dig through the bins and try find a close match...
