Terry thanks for the post and the pics. I am building from the ground up (so to speak). Pete and Jake's are building a 32 frame with a 56" rear (rear drum brakes). I don't have the chassis (delivery around end of year) so I don't have the luxury of test fits. I was hoping on doing a chopped Brookville (with fenders) - all contingent on $$$- and getting the body way on down the road. Exactly right about knowing about the Gammell coupe rear setup - I have no idea if he has a narrowed rear in that pup.

Want to jump in, with let to offer. My '32 5W I purchased is an all Henry steel unchopped coupe. P&J chassis, 406 ci, 700R4, 9" 3.73 with 60's correct interior. Came with polished American Racing Salt flat wheels with 16" Commercial T/A tires on Rear 30" tall.. 15" Nexus on front with a 1" spacer. For me the tire wheel package distract from the "flavor" of the rod. I am a function guy over shine guy.....t
love the competition period look. Love bead blasted more than polished. Got to have safety wire! That all being said.......

Just ordered the SoCal pin drive kidney bean pin drive wheel set. Natural finish. 16x8 and 16x6. The dilemma now rests with tires. I like the Firestone tires in the dirt tracks sets. I also like the pie cut tires. I still want a rake and I still will sometimes drive 100+ miles to events. Anybody come up with any good combos? Opinions on the dirt track Fitestones on the road.for those hundred mile trips. Of course bias versus radial!
