I recently purchased a killer little T roadster off Hamb'r CAS. I really dig the thing just the way it sits, but I feel like I need to change it up a little bit to somehow make it "mine"... lol. Of course the most dramatic change you can do to a car is to change out the wheels and tires, so I'm looking for opinions/suggestions. My main issue w/ it is the front Fenton Gyros... while they are some cool old wheels, I think they would be better suited on a nose up 55 Chevy or something. I did a few very quick photo shops of some Radirs w/ www and black walls. Also considering Astro Supremes w/ white walls. I'd love to run some spindle mount 12 spokes, but I dont want to get into changing the front 46 ford juice brakes. So feel free to photoshop the pic and come up w/ something cool.

The skinny whitewalls rule! Wheels are your choice, but I like the Supremes. One of my favorite Ts is in the HotRod yearbook, maybe 1967. It's green, with white interior, skinny whites and Supremes, sitting by the ocean on a ledge. Wish I could scan it for you.

  7. #1 or #3. PS-I never liked Supremes and fatwhites. It's just NOT a "Hot Rod" wheel in my opinion in any application. More for "Customs"/Traditional Lowriders.

I agree on the fat whites and supremes not really going together, but they looked so right on Plowboys Lunar Lander I had to cut em off one of his pics and stick em on there. Kinda seems like supremes need a bit of a black line to seperate the white wall from the rim to work well. I have Hurst cheaters on the car now, and I have buffed out the white letters on the back side and ended up w/ a nice 2.5" white wall w/ about 1/2" of black between the WW and the rim.

Sorry... Cragar SS's just aren't for me

That is SO NICE! Looks later 60's to me so......

#4, only with Americans (polished or natural). 6x15 and 8.5x15 on blackwalls.

    Dang, that's cool.

Ok, I REALLY dig picture number 2. I don't know why, but the like the Supremes on that car. A very close 2nd would have to be the Radirs with WWW. Just my 2 cents.

my opinion....... either add white walls to the rear black wheels with merc caps....and same on front.....or chrome reverse with black walls....this thing has the 60's vibe...with the flake.....but it also reminds me of tommy ivo's t....in a way.....of course.....12 spokes and 15x8.5 5 spokes with piecrust slicks would do the job as well.....brandon

I also think chrome reversed with a skinny ww would look *****in'.

Paint the center, around the lug nuts, a candy red to match the 'flake body, and stick some bullet centers through 'em (not spiders). Or two-bar knockoffs.

    *****in' bucket, man!

its like we were separated at birth.

that would SCREAM a perfect 60s style tone right there.

You have a neat hot rod. I don't think any of the photoshops improve the look. A roadster with zoomie headers should have racing wheels, like are on the car now, not wheels designed for a street custom.

  24. unpolished spindle mounts up front, keep the black rims and slicks on the rear. Add a removeable roll bar and you have the total package. Those zoomies kinda set the theme.

If you had a pair of slots for the back, and a pair of 5-spokes for the front you would be 60s period perfect.
If the back wheels were painted red or any color with dogdish caps you could certainly be good with what you've got. It would be good to go one or two sizes taller on tires in the back without getting crazy steamroller wide.
I have to ask, are those upholstered school library seats going to get it on a 500 mile drive? Hope the suspension works really well or you have an iron *** if not.

I actually like #2 with the Astros....looks good.
But chrome reverses with wide whites would even be better!!
Or Radirs on the back and chrome reverses on the front.....kinda like a Weesner painting......I love mismatched wheels...hahahaha!!!!

I'm just not into the Radirs...always seem a bit too "clunky" for me. Spokes are too flat, don't "wrap" around like the Supremes, or American TQ Thrusts... I agree the skinny whites have the right "vibe" (even if I forever love the blackwall/Am. TT D's) Not always into Supremes either, but they don't look bad here!

They are actually custom made seats... not library chairs... and quite comfortable. Not really planning too many 500 mile drives in the T.

Thanks for the ideas... sorry if it sounds like I'm asking ya to build my car, I just respect most of the opinions around here, and thought maybe someone would have a better idea than I have for it. I am really digging the idea of the chrome reverse w/ painted centers. I'm going to try hack together a photo shop pic and see if I like it. Car was built to look a bit similar to the old fuel altereds, and I don't want to ruin that look, but it also has a white interior and white pinstripes, so I cant get the white wall tire thing out of my head.
