Just wanted to know if a 52 chevy and 51 chevy have the same wheelbase? The reason i ask is because my 51 had a camaro clip on it when i got. I then measured it twice then cut it off to raise the clip up a few inches. I welded the frame back together, Put the body and fenders on. Then noticed the front wheels set back inside the fender well. I f**ked up on my measurments , I did'nt even think of measuring the wheelbase. For the life of me i could'nt tell you what i measured off of. A friend of mine has a 52, He did the same thing (put nova clip on) but his was done by a shop in Hesperia,Ca.. his came out badass. We took out a tape an measured the wheelbase off his frame 114'' . So now im in the process of taking the body back off my frame so it can go under the knife once again.
Yeah, '51 and '52 are the same. I got a '51 myself. Don't quote me, but I think the wheelbase is 116". By the way, what is the best clip to use? I'll be operating on mine this winter....Ole Pork
I set up my 1949 Chevy at 115" wheelbase. My project has an S10 clip and tri-bar link rear setup - body off build. I will dig into my stash of papers and web searches to see if I can pull the factory specs for your year. Cheers,
You guys are great, Im never gonna get to cuttin on my 51 without asking you all for advice first. My plan is to build this damn thing without taking it to any shop for any kind of customizing. Learning alot along the way thanks for the help.....
