Love red, painted some rims red once for a pro streeter truck I built up, and a dog peed on em, yellow where the pee hit, had to redo em, so clear coat whichever you use.....

Okay ... but as I don't really hang around paint shops that description is largely meaningless to me without a picture to see what the color on the car actually is.

Frankly, if it's like most normal shades of green I wouldn't paint the wheels either cream or red. I'd go with black or yellow, perhaps, but without seeing the actual color of the car, I can't really say.

    Sorry.

Black would be cool. Maybe even with a pinstripe of matching body color midway around the wheel.

I thought the one guy said "I'd go cream myself". That's quite an endor*****t. Do we have threads on wheel colors? Mine are midnight blue, like the car, but I would be tempted by tropical turquoise wheels.

Black (tires) white (walls) and red go with almost any color. That's part of it. You can see red from a distance.

  13. On a positive note -
red against green will probably look aggressive, while cream will offer a more lithe, light look. I stress probably.
So maybe something to consider- which look suits you?

I hate these dang threads. :D

First off, red wheels are very traditional. To those who say they aren't, you're just blinded because people have possibly overplayed them the last few years. It's never wrong, but sometimes it can get boring. I'll concede to that.

Anyway, I'd probably go with cream, I only like red wheels if I'm running a pretty full set of hubcaps, so the red wheel is more like a wide pinstripe. If that makes sense.

Actually, I'd go with black, but since you're stuck between red and cream, I'll go red. I mean cream.

The reason so many cars in the late-'40s thru the '60s had red wheels was because of the rule!

"If it don't go, chrome it. If ya can't chrome it, paint it red."
(Hot Rod Magazine, year uncertain; Quoted from Stroker McGurk or Karl Kohler)
