When are we showing up for the Rust Revival

From the Czar board: Me and Derby are leaving the Rockford area at 7:00 AM & meeting up with tiger mark, Diamond 49 & 1lowtrk down at I-39 & I-80 between 8:00 & 8:15 AM. Weather.com says T-Storms on saturday in Wayland, MO. I sure as hell hope not, but is there a contingency plan if it pours? The chance was only 30% but I dont have working wipers for the ride.

I'll be bringing the car jack, tools and a cooler of beer and some snacks!!

I will be leaving about noon cause I gotta get back here to Davenport IA in time for my family function

If you see me with a camera - dont look or wave (you will thank me later when you see yourself on TV) - and I hope to get some early test footage of the mini bike races before I leave.........

Also - if you see a camera pointed at your car - wind it up a little if you have some nice pipes - they always sound great on film and people eat that up you know!

Best thing I can do in support is take my son to school in the'58 tomorrow "Mufti black Rodder boy attire for him" He is so stoked. He want's me to power park outside his classroom in the avo' so he can be Ace as he get's out of school... Gotta luv it! Oh yeah, got the Friday off from work (company bonus) cos Sunday is kinda special too...
Will wear my RR T shirt on the club cruise/garage raid BBQ on Sunday in honour of you lot!

No crap! I seriously think we rolled into the show about 1pm last year.

Anyways, my dad and I are leaving at 9 tomorrow morning. Taking the very scenic route. Stoppin for breakfast, stoppin for lunch, maybe stoppin for a snack here and there. We'll probably get into wayland around 4ish. Then we'll fill up on Whiskey and maybe have a bite to eat at Reeds. See ya there!

 

leaving here in about an hour to head to meet up with everyone in fond du lac wisconsin then off to the RR got the moped packed up in the back seat of my daily till i meet up with the guys lol

 

its either leave at noon - or dont show up - and from the pix I saw last year I would say most people were there by noon

overall I will be cool with that - remember I dont party like ya'll- I dont have the stamina

so I will see ya on Friday night and then I will wake up early on Sat morn to put out my magazines and DVDs for the early birds to look through then I will pack up and get out

I just hope some people will wind up the cars for me 1 or 2 times!

About 5 of us are leaving Aurora at about 3 am sat. Our first RR. Cant wait to see you all there.

 

the show was amazing - even though I left at noon - the cars that showed up were really cool - and the people that I met were even better! So many new people from southern Illinois, Indiana, St Louis - it is good to know that - as one guy put it - "the shiny stuff is really not my thing anymore -I wanna drive these cars!"

that is exactly it - I know some guys have a nice hot rod at home - and they bring the beater out to the Rust Revival - that is OK - they have the right mindset - its about DRIVING the cars and not afraid to get them dirty or take them in the rain (which is exactly what happened from about 830-930 this morn)

I had a great time for the small amount of time I was there and I want to especially thank Breeder for setting up the mini bike drags for a test run so I could get some cool footage of the guys heading off the line - GREAT STUFF

I look forward to seeing all the pix and the stories of shenanigans that are probably STILL going on right now as I type!

Another success and it could not happen to a better guy.......

I hope that you will be able to keep the show there for as long as possible - I know the car count is getting up there and I hope the locals dont start hating the hot rodders coming into their town and raising havoc.

Hope to stay the entire time next year!
