It was the times, look what high school kids were doing in 78', but then again 78' vettes were already kinda ugly. I will admit that I thought this car was cool in 1978, however I was six years old.

I'm more offended by that picture of John Travolta than anything else.

You may not agree with his style, but damn, the man has skills. All must at least agree with that. I sure would love to pick his brain.

Although I haven't seen as much from them, I think the Alexander Brothers put George and Sam to shame in terms of style. But then, art is all subjective; isn't it? Dean Jefferies (Manta Ray) was realy cool at the time, and I think Starbird actually built one or two cars that didn't make my gut wrench.

  8. Uh....That was me ...sorry. I was disturbed by that shot and I thought I would share. You are right about the tats though!

Don't forget Farrah's vette while we are on the disco Barris celebrity rides! God I must have built that kit a dozen times!

Remember when EVERYTHING had to have IMSA fenders and 1/4's to be cool?

The cars that were built by the builders for themselves were mostly terrific. The ones they built for some one else with some one elses ideas, didn't always turnout well. Some builders follow a dream others follow someone else's dream. And those dreams can become nightmares that the builders would just as well not like to have their names associated with. When you bow to the money instead of your ideals, shit happens. Most of the custom builders from the 50's, 60's and 70's did outstanding work. Everyone's entitled to a little screw up from time to time.:D
