So I am in LA 18-28th March.....want to make the most of my trip and definitely want to take in some of your famous Automotive awesomeness! Any advice and tips would be welcome.....and any tour guides appreciated. I can reimburse you with LEGO brick built goodies..... Cheers in advance! C
Boy, your in for a treat! I'm from the east coast, but have visited L.A. several times. The coolest city for HOT RODDERS, there's the Petersen and Wally parks NHRA museums, for starters. also you need to cruise the Pacific Coast Highway And Mulholland dr. THE Griffin Observatory. Hollywood, St. Monica pier. best beaches Huntington ,Venice ,and my favorite El Mataor. Really just to much to list. Have Fun. And post your photos here when you return. THANKS Ron...
Thanks Ron! Petersen was on my A-List.....and if time allows I will defintely take a quick drive up Pacific Coast Highway.
Dave puts a great deal of effort into his site, and it should be helpful to you ... http://www.socalcarculture.com/events.html
I'll be there with my family during that same time. Planning on what Ron said, plus going to Moon speed equipment.

How about the Reventlow/Shelby Cobra shop & the Traco Engineering shop next door to it? (photos to come) You are also not far from the Santa Monica Pier which is the end of Route 66 which is very near the former Granatelli shop... Hallowed ground for sure.
Are you bringing anyone with you with non-automotive interests? If so, what are they? Charlie Stephens
Be prepared for Traffic, Traffic, Traffic. Did I mention that Traffic is a bitch in Los Angeles. If you're a light rail, use it and check out these places. They are not car related but cool to visit, especially if you're hungry. Grand Central Market (great selection of small eateries). Clifton's (all new decor. It's beautiful to look at but the food is so-so) . Grand Central Market is by Pershing Square Subway stop. You can walk to Clifton's from the Market, about a mile down Broadway till you reach 7th St. Across from Union Station, where the subway ends, is Olvera Street. A Mexican village, with shops and places to eat. It's considered the birth place of Los Angeles. From Union Station, you can get the Gold line light rail and visit Chinatown, which is one stop from Union Station (on the way to Pasadena/Azusa) or you can continue and get off at Memorial Park and visit Old Town Pasadena. Tons of places to eat. I like Barneys Beanery and Lucky Baldwins.
Some great suggestions guys! Thanks so much! Charlie I'm travelling alone and so only my car geeky self to worry about. It's a work trip I'm meeting some animators and blah blah...... I'm ready for the traffic! It's kind of the first thing I have been told..... Haha I want a Hood Life tour.....pretty big change to my usual Danish lifestyle.....
If your time is limited, then I highly recommend that you visit Olvera Street. Check out the shops and have some Mexican food.
