So I made the cl***ic mistake and bought a 1961 Buick LeSabre off Ebay without actually seeing the car other than a bunch of pictures. I talked with the guy quite a few times asking him all the questions about condition and issues with car. I thought it would be a good project car for the winter and have it ready by summer to drive around. Well the car shows up and it is alot worse on the underside than described or pictures represented. Floors, rockers, shocks, springs, brakes, muffler, window mechanisms, fender splash guards etc... I am looking at about a 2-3 year project pending finances and the availability of parts for this one year model. I have a basic two car garage so I don't have the room to do a body off restoration with all the other **** i have in there too. I don't mean to whine and complain but do I just cut my losses and sell it to get it out of my garage or do I try to salvage this? Any suggestions or opinions would be helpful.

Ever hear the expression Caveat emptor?

It seems like a lot of people selling on E-Pay are betting the buyers haven't.

As large as the hamb membership is it would be well advised to seek someone in the area to check out the cars people are considering dumping their hard earned money for that prized new project.

Lets face it,,this is not the first time and won't be the last that this kind of thing happens,,my suggestion is to get in touch with E-Pay and let them know the car you bought was misrepresented,,I don't know if it will help or not.

My thought would be to try and sell it,,and tell the truth about the car,,who knows there might be a Hamber looking for the same project,,,Good Luck, HRP

Never buy something you haven"t looked at or at least found someone in the area check it out first. On the phone hell if you sound like a potential buyer the seller will tell you exactly what you want to hear.Whens the last time somebody selling something tried to talk you into not buying it . If you don"t want it sell it.
