ok...trad....well,if you're keeping with tradition, you gotta remember that those old boys didnt just hop up the stock engine (that wouldnt last too long) they fixed up whatever they could to make it BETTER which is what it's about..and tell this guy to take a hike about 54s not havin power brakes..they had power steering so that was gonna be the next thing on chevy's mind.what you're doin is no different from a guy crammin a big old V8 into an engine bay built for a 4 banger.whatever makes it go fast and in your case stops it as fast.so just tell yer buddy you ARE bein traditional, you're just not goin STOCK!

yea, the '54 had PB, PS, PW, Pseats... bout the only "modern" feature they didnt have was AC or disc brakes... first year for balljoint suspension, it was a really inovative car for sure.

six of one, half dozen of the other i think.

the major point i was getting at was "traditional" means if you want it on your car, put it there, but dont buy some kinda kit or what ever. want disc brakes? weld some brackets on...

bottom line is, figure out how to make your ride as fun, fast, and safe as you can, but do it YOURSELF
