Is it best to run brake lines when doing inital mockup or wait until final ***embly?

I like to run new brake lines, and new fuel lines before the drive train is in the way. Makes it easier to do it kind of neatly, considering I'm a slob. Gene

Definitely during mock up. Saves the new paint.

i have found it best to do it during inital build and think of them the whole time during the build along with the wiring and fuel lines. ****s to slip with the drill on a fresh paint job cause you forgot line clamps .

I ran my brake lines first, then had to move two of them due to clearance issues with the exhaust.

Did you run them on the INSIDE of the rails?

  7. do the brake lines , fuel lines , exhaust , battery cables , parking brake cables , driveshaft, etc...anything that could possibly have interference problems... during the mock up

always run em on the outside. runnin them on the inside, they could catch some hell if the driveshaft ever broke.

  9. We PLAN the layout of the lines during mockup. Add any tabs or bulkheads needed but dont actually bend any lines until final ***embly.

in the past I always did it before installing the drivetrain after everything is welded up. I'd leave cheap screws in all the tapped line clamp holes at the time of paint.
I waited till the very end on the one I am building now and am hating life.

OUTSIDE of what? If the car is a hiboy all that stuff "hanging on the outside" would look wierd.
Maybe you should think that idea over a bit.

Mine are ALL (brake, fuel, battery cables and wiring) on the INSIDE!
And I don't expect the driveshaft to break.
