glad to see we have some original desert rats. other than the four years i spent in the Marines over in cali, i was born and raised in queen creek, and im still amazed how much it has changed, i can only imagine how you guys feel. but as far as hot rods and car shows i never see any around and when i ask people i see with nice rides they always say "go to the pavillions" but i kinda wanna go somehwere closer! dont think my ford will make it that far ha ha ha

 

Chandler here. I hit up the pavilions once in a while, but spend most of my time in the southeast valley.

 

Again man, lets take over the car show at Ocotillo and Arizona on Friday nights. I have not been since last spring (pretty sure it dies in the summer), but there were 50 cars or so on a good night with plenty of room for more. Could be the new east valley hangout.

Thats is funny!!!!! We moved from Phx to Kentucky 2 years ago and it sucks ass here!!!! 90 degrees with 90 fuckin % humidity is the absolute shitiest....We are moving back to Phx in Dec, will have to hook up with some HAMBERS

We went by last Friday after I saw your post. Had not heard about this one before. There were only three cars but they did say this Friday is the kickoff and are expecting a good turn out.

 

i never even knew about it, and my 41 is getting close to driveable so im excited!

 

Her name on the show was "Lily". I believe her real name was Yvonne DeCarlo?

But she was a model before from what I heard! When you see her all normal, you can see it. I was watching some John Wayne western with her in it, can't remember the name though.


And back on topic, I'd like to check some cars out at the Ocotillo meet, but I don't have any hotrods that are at all HAMB friendly going.

I understand humidity....I come from Chicago. BUT, even if it is humid the temp drops at night. Here in the big litterbox, at night it is still over 100 degrees for months. Not a fan of the weather here.

 

I was hoping to go last Friday as well but something turned up. Last fall and spring it was a pretty cool little show with about 40-50 cars. I think if more people find out about it, it could be good because it is a good location for us in Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, etc..........So as of right now, I am hoping to be there this Friday. There was a death in my family this past Sunday so I am not able to commit 100 percent yet but I should be able to be there.

Lived in the PHX area for 20 years, Chandler mostly, then Tempe when I went to ASU. I hope to move back someday..
