dang there's a lot of old timers still here.
I found the HAMB in about 2000 at work
tried at home on an early apple with aol dail up but it kept timing out downloading artwork.
didn't really start hanging out until work and home computers got upgraded in '02

    Hello,

Well, for us old guys that came on later on in life, I ended up 259060, it was in 2015.

It was fairly easy to find the actual number, but it is a relatively different than the original 500.

Since I have been gathering a lot of stuff from my files and organizing them, then had something to present to the HAMB audience. But, as early as the original films I sent to the heads of various top websites for hot rods and drag racing, I needed to get busy and start editing them for stories.

My other goal, that is still in its final stages is to have them organized, labeled who is who and where it was taken 67-68 years ago is still an ongoing process. I have been asked to sent them finished with information to a well known university archive collection with general internet search parameters. But, I am now down to a last few names and perhaps, it is time to send it all to the accessible information banks.

The archive division wants the collection for two things, one, it is the only history of So Cal film/action in drag racing preserved for the 57-64 time period. And, 2, at least someone is interested in drag racing history in So Cal as it played a huge part of that time period. They have plenty of still photos of the later years when 35mm cameras were in vogue.

Time to get going and finish that long standing So Cal Drag Racing Project…YRMV

  8. I’m still here. 2002 I think. Lurked for a while in the beginning. Wasn’t quite sure of what to make of it. I’m in the 600 range. Still screwing around with all this old crap.

not as early as some but not late like others. member 23,741, joined in 2006. I lurked for a long time, a few years. I wasn't really one to associate with others especially in public with my speech problem and it just followed me over to being quiet on the internet. Found out you could learn alot by being quiet, people talk freely not knowing your ears are open. Anyways when Todd(Breeder) had his big flood and everything was buried under sand and mud someone(sorry don't remember who) ran an auction for a brand new snapon ratchet and proceeds would go to him to help out. I loved following him and his posts and i decided to join and win that ratchet no matter what. That was the start of me being here and off and on i post now, usually in streaks.

    Anyways miss you Breeder, rip.

I'd think some Ford guy would be all over that.

  16. I've been here for 12 years. I'm a relatively low 200,000 or so. Waiting for a few of you older guys to die off so I can get closer to the top.
