I'm trying to get rid of my stuff so I can get better stuff to put on my car :D

  3. Since I want to trade my hot rod for something more comfortable (happy wife-happy life), I’m going to hit as many local and semi local events as I possibly can with my “for sale or trade sign “ on the windshield. So I really appreciate this thread for the listing of shows and events.

...and whatever I run across that I can squeeze in my schedule. I usually find out about stuff AFTER the fact though.

  6. Where are you going in 2023? That is the question. Well, as a wise man once said I’m going off the rails on a crazy train. Heh heh.

    The for sure list:
    Rumblecat's Rally in the Alley
    Conroe Swap meet
    Chickasha pre war swap meet..
    Hotrod Showdown 5
Prewar Pileup if they have it this year.
    Riviera's Roast

    The maybe list:
    Lonestar Deluxe
    Invasion
    Pistons and Paint
    Cruising the Coast
Lonestar Roundup -Disclaimer. The show is good, swap meet is good, but the city has a huge theft, drug and homeless problem and police not caring about it due to defunding. If the show was anywhere else I would probably put it on the for sure list. Only reason I go normally is friends who haven't gone want me to go with them and show them the ropes.

Events I wish that would happen or come back around.
    Moonshine Run in San Antonio
    TROG in the south.
    Bayou Roundup

Always enjoyed & for sure appreciated the Speedway Motors monthly Saturday coffee cruises, just an hour's drive & always a big gathering, can be home by mid-day unless I tour the museum, or someone has a garage tour invite.

I've been considering this for a while. It would be an overnight or two possibly but not a killer on seat time.
Would love to see the museum and cars from the area.
To see the 4 banger Plymouth that Rick Fox built with the yblockhead and half of a Hilborn FI would be worth the trip just by itself.

May is Vintage Torque Fest in Dubuque, great show, really fun entertainment Friday night
June is Back to the Fifties, too complicated to take a hot rod anymore, but fun to see that many cars.
July is Leadsled Spectacular in Salina KS, really fun show, usually unbelievably hot, but worth the effort
Mississippi Mayhem is back this year outside LaCrosse WI, another fun show, that is just the right size.
Those are for sure, maybe a Bonneville run just for fun.

I get some flack from local guys, because I dont take my car to the wednesday night cruise in, but I'll drive 10 or more hours to a national event, so I think I'll try to attend more local stuff this year

I'll go to hershey, maybe for a day, maybe for 2, and because Ive heard great things about the show this year I may need to enter my car in HPOF 2023.

I do plan to attend The National Woodie Club's event in Mystic Conn.

and I would really like to attend IOLA, as well as the cleveland autorama, but both will be a last minute decision.
