    Okay, new to the board here. I'm starting the build on a 32 5 window Milner Tribute. I'm trying to locate, without a lot of success, the following;

    1. A polished firewall

    2. The headers

    3. The rear nerf bar.

    4. The front and rear fenders.

One last question; am I right in guessing that the tail lights are 41-48 Chevy passenger car?

    Thanks...Dave

You will need to make or have someone make, judging by your questions this is your first build huh!!! You will need to have someone make the Firewall, Nerf Bar and Fenders...There is no KIT for this!!!!

Yeah, like John said most of that stuff has to be fabbed up.

I am good buddies with a builder in Texas who built one of the most accurate clones I have ever seen (I have seen a bunch) and he probably would be willing to fab up some of this.

    PM me if you want...

  5. yes, you are going to have to make the rear nerf. it appears to be about 7/8 or 1" od ...so get some tubing and bend it up. then add chrome

for the firewall , in the pictures i have seen of the actual original car just had a piece of stainless over a mostly stock one. any good sheetmetal shop could do that. i have seen the car in person and i may have a few pictures here.

    headers....not sure

I'll never understand why someone would waste time and money duplicating what is argueably one of the uglier '32's ever built.

Same reason why someone would buy a Night Rider Car.... they want to be David Hasselhoff

  9. Are you looking for a vendor that sells these? Used parts from another build? Or original parts that these are?

If you are looking for the last they did not exist. They were all fab'd up.

The "ugly" of the "Graffiti Coupe" is in the eye of the beholder. It has it's own unique look and that's what lots of us search for and often never find in our rides.
I wouldn't kick it out of the garage for leaking oil on the floor, would you REALLY?

Ya know, if you decide to get into acting you would make a killer tuff modern Michael Knight for a new movie version...just a thought.

Can you sing and have you ever been to Germany?

Don't hold back Frank,.... speak your mind !:D

Actually I really do like the car, (not necessarily for the style, but for what it represents) maybe it's because there was such a lull in hot rod activity when that little yellow coupe came rumbling onto the screen,. it awakened a lot of good old feelings, and got guys back into the garage.

I don't know about another clone or tribute car,... instead of building a dead nuts knock off of it, how about your personal take on the car, with some of your own input in the style,.....

But, if a dead nuts knock off is what you really want and dream of,... go for it. (the actual car is really kind of rough, and a little scary/dangerous,... Not knocking it,... just stating facts)

  17. The Milner Coupe would look a whole lot better with proper grille and rad placement. That part of it just gags me. Somebody should smack the guy that thought that was "cool" when it it was built. But Hey! Some people thought the Fonz was cool too! Whoa!

One story I heard was that the car had been channeled, but the director didn't like it and had the body mounted back on top of the frame. They left the chopped grill and shell in the chopped position. I join those that don't like the grill/radiator. Tribute cars that I've seen have been much better and safer constructed.

Do an intro before you keep posting.

Your questions are pretty odd if this isn't your first build.

There's no Milner Clone Factory. All of the things that made it a one off are just that - one off. If you want to do a tribute and simply buy the parts, someone is going to have to fab the parts that you want.

  24. I actually like the Milner coupe. The way it looks, plus what it represents. I think it'd be cool to see something like that on the street. Theres a guy around here with a super closely done clone of Falfa's Chevy. Its super bitchin, I always stop to check it out when I can. I dunno. Milner was cool, the Fonz is cool, hot rods are cool.

I was told by a very reliable source back in the 70's (that should have known)

"The original script called for a chopped & CHANNELED Deuce Coupe with a Hemi" This car was already chopped and it's why they chose it, After stripping the fenders off, repainting the car and chroming the front end, time and budget restraints stopped the original plans,... they had already sectioned the radiator shell,.... so they put it together as it was and started filming.

Like I said, it was from a really reliable source, but I can't guarantee if it is indeed factual.

Harms Way was another version of the cars creation. Probably doesn't really matter now, it's all history.

All I remember was, that because American Graffiti was a low budget film, the script called for one thing and they had to compromise on a number of things.

I had read on the HAMB that a Deuce coupe that ran around where George Lucas grew up was a chopped & Channeled Deuce 5/W the pictures looked a lot like the Graffiti car if it were channeled.

  29. I remember reading about that too, the car looked badass but I didnt save a pic. Anybody have a link to that?
