Projects Where can I find large Spike or Pike Nuts

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by spillaneswillys, Jun 16, 2015.

  1. Looking for a large spike or pike nut for my air cleaner. Any help out there as to where I can find one? Can't seem to find any on the bay or google large enough for what I want

Look at a good lighting place. Finails for the top of a table lamp.

Make sure when you close the hood you it doesn't come blowing through!

Maybe that's the idea, stab a hole in the hood to keep it shut!

  14. Find an Alliance vendor that carries Gardner- Wescott products. They have them in their catalog.

Dear gawd' man ! Hope you never slip a socket on that ****er. Spark plug change could turn into shish-kabob frontal lobe lobotomy !

At least he won't have to bend over to remove the air cleaner. ;)

Somewhere we took a wrong turn.

  25. I was going to say they are still popular with the scooter crowd a bike shop would be the place to start.

or one of these, I did this with fence pliers but had similar wounds from time to time when I thought that spike nuts on my bike were cool. A little liquor and a heavy had is all it takes.

That said I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. :D

I think I saw something similar to what you were asking about Saturday at a rat rod show here in town but was afraid I'd break my camera if I took a picture of the atrocity that it was on.
The chrome trinket shops for semi trucks seem to have some really long bullet things to stick on lug nuts that might be made to work if you filled one with epoxy and drilled and tapped it.

Gardner wescott makes them, any type of chrome pike, acorn, and cap nuts.
Most cycle shops deal with them either directly or through a distributor.
I am not sure if you can buy from them directly. If it's sharp, ugly or just dangerous to use in any application it came from them.
