Mine was a 68 Mustang Fastback 390 auto, got it from my brother, I dated my girlfriend who became my wife took her to the hospital have my 1st son and brought him home in the same car. Restored the car and sold it after 11 years then found it again got it back fixed it again then sold it and few years later got it back this time it was real bad fixed it as money would allow then sold it again never to see it again but always wanted another one. I found a replacement in a barn bought it gave it to my 1st son then 15 years old he drove it till he was 21 traded it to a guy for a Harley still has the Harley and keeps an eye out for another one some day for his son.
I bought the car in 1984 and have had it ever since. Here I am at Hot August Nights in 1988 In my backyard today
My first "car" was a '49 Cadillac hearse that was solid, in nice condition, with only about 40,000 miles. I drove it for a few years, then sold it to buy a Mini-Cooper. The guy I sold the hearse to used it for a work truck until something quit working. At that point it was trashed. I wish I had kept it, and have never found the exact same model worth having or restoring.
My '39 deluxe coupe has probably been recycled at least 5 times by now . I bought it in 1955 for $100 , worked after school and weekends for a machine shop pushing a broom to rebuild the smokey 'ol flathead. I got to drive it to highschool my freshman year in '56 and sold it to a guy that moved to Reno and hacked it up trying to put a early Hemi in it , last time I saw it was in a scrap yard and it was like losing an old friend !
mine went into my friends dads basment in pieces im pretty sure its still there its roof went on one of his cars
I'm sure that my first car was junked after I sold it... and I wouldn't really want it or another one like it... it was that bad of a car... and probably most of my cars were junked (although i'd like to think that the '56 safari and vette and '52 hudson might be still around) until I kept my 16th car (or maybe it's my 17th)... bought a '52 buick in 1975 for $50... still have it but it needs a redo...
I'm comming up on 10 years of daily commuting on my 81 el camino, bought it as a wreck, 2 noses, 3 tailgates, a door, a quarterpanel, motor, 2 transmissions, 2 rearends and a ton of abuse later
I sold mine at the first Good Guys Columbus Nationals it was a 1962 Studebaker Lark Daytona next week I had a 1964 Falcon Futura that was super rare and some museum curator bought it from my mom when I was in Boot Camp....
2 yrs ago I was able to talk my Uncle out of his 48 chev aero 2dr. I learned to drive in it when I was 9. I am 47 now. The first car I bought and drove from age 16 to 26, 73 Comet GT, went through 4 owners. Car is still in my county and current owner has restored it and shows it alongside his other rare Fords. peace
had to sell it to get out of town in a hurry. I got $650 ,and an ounce of bud for it. I was young and dumb. That money got me to socal, and the bud got me off of coke... so lookin back I guess it was worth it. man its good to be grown up.
Still have it and it's a daily driver, 76 c10 custom deluxe. It used to be a ranch truck and it hadn't been inspected since 85 when I got it back in 97.
I still have my first car. It's a 68 Camaro RS convertible. Bought it in 1981, put it in the barn in 1991, pulled it out in 2003 and did a complete restoration. Still has the original 327 engine stroked out to 383.
47 Ford Truck. 100 yards down the street in Dad's shop with chopped top, roll n pleats, 383 stroker. I drove it pretty much stock....lots of fun either way.
Mine (1973) was a '53 Ford PU, flat head V-8, white walls, cragers. The truck became my brothers and he did a full frame off (late 70's), 302 Ford AT, wheels interior etc etc. We lost track of it 20 or so years ago.

On a crisp fall morning when i was leaving my part time job at Sears,Roebuck & Co. in route to my girlfriends house for lunch when a elderly lady pulled out of a side street in front of me driving a tank in the form of a mid 50's Plymouth. I swerved to the right trying to avoid a collision only to catch the front bumper on a telephone guide wire close to the curb and rolled my car,Joey Chitwood style.,,,two and a half times to come to a stop on the roof ,,,,my 54 ford was gone,,,totaled,,,,I did manage to get out of the car with only minor cuts and scrapes,,,,got most of those from reaching back in the car to get that new Jimi Hendrex album. Last time I saw it was at Ed Powells junk yard,it stayed there for about 10 years and then the crusher came in a cleaned out that area,,HRP
my first car was a 1970 Opel GT. i bought it for $600 from a guy who's daughter drove it into a telephone pole. me and my dad restored it. 10 years later sold it to a guy who was going to turn it into a dragster of some sort. never saw the end result.
Still have my first car (avatar) and my second car ('67 C-10). Been 19 and 18 years respectively. I'm 32 years old and have had the same car for 19 years, the same girl for 16 years and the same job for 14 years. Guess I'm pretty boring. But happy.
My first car was a white 69 Pontiac Executive with the low performance 400. My high school sweetheart's parents gave it to me as a Christmas gift. It wasn't running, but that same morning her stepfather and I went out to the carport and he taught me how to change the timing chain which had slipped and was an apparent problem with these engines. A couple years later it slipped again, but I had a line on another free car and I parked that Pontiac beside the garage until after I left home. My mom gave it to a guy who wanted to use it for a demolition derby. As much as that makes me cringe, it also makes me smile - that car was an absolute tank and with that wedge front end, I suspect ol' "Moby Dick" killed a lot of cars before she finally passed.
No idea, but I'd buy it back for twice what I sold it for in a heartbeat. It was a '68 Chevelle SS396, black, low miles, perfect interior, never wrecked. I sold it for $1000 back in 1976.
31 "A" coupe that we put a 55 DeSoto w/3spd into (1961). Went in the Sevice and the car went to the Stock Car races. I made it home, but the car didn't make it half way through the season...totaled on the track...
Flipped it end over end a half dozen times. Liability insurance only--so by a 16 year olds standards it was a total loss. Bent frame--every body panel damaged. Still ran like a scalded ape though--just turned hard donuts to the left without touching the steering wheel!!! Traded it for a 55 BelAir body. It was last seen on the dirt tracks of Carolina in the early 70s!! Probably worth 30k if I still had it in pristine shape. Kind of like the baseball cards, comic books, and steel Tonka Toys we all let get away from us......oh well--life goes on...!!!
I've had mine for 30 and thought of selling it a few times, glad I haven't. Think it over, most guys are trying to get theirs back.
