Around here a rough but complete and workable coupe body will cost you around $3000. I was looking for a year for another coupe project, found a complete 31 in an ebay auction a few months ago. Rough !!!!!

Won the auction, drove 200 miles to get it. It's the one in the background of my avatar. After I sold the chassis with engine (not running but not stuck) I have another project body for net $2000.

Needs some work but that's my hobby. This one will be fenderless and channeled.

(The one in the foreground is my current driver.)

They are around. You just need to know where to look. This isn't far from my dads farm at all, just a few KM's away.

There are a few early 30's ones too, but I didn't have time to snap pics of those.
These are in southern Saskatchewan BTW.

Keep an eye on Craigslist. A few days ago someone in Jersey put up a 31' five window coupe for $1,700 it was gone by the evening. The owner said it was rough but it looked damn good for $1,700. I'm sure it's on a trailer headed to Hershey as we speak.

  4. Don't expect to find that prize in your own back yard,,look in other citys when looking a Craig s list,,look in local trader magazines and ask questions at car shows,,there are plenty of old cars left.

one month looking is nothing unusual. HRP

  5. I usually go get on the tractor and do some bush hogging and find one or two I forgot about..:D

  6. I think another piece of advice that has been overlooked, is to not get 'blinded' by the first one you see that is close by and in your price range.

I was looking for about 6 months. Had a price range and a geographic region. I found my truck, and ended up overlooking the flaws because I wanted it so bad. In hindsight, I wish I had passed on it and kept looking. It may be helpful to have an impartial friend check it over with you.

    Good luck in the hunt.

Found mine in an oil field in Illinois, stored in an old mobile home a guy had ripped the back off of to get the body in there. There was 2 other cars in there with it. A 57 Chevy and a 70's Olds Cutlass.
