    Hi,

I need to replace some window channel on my 1956 Victoria HT. Which place would you recommend or are they all about the same?

    Thanks!

I have purchased from Restoration Specialties and TeeBird Auto Parts for window channel. Restoration Specialties has a quality product for a great price, but you will have to form the channel yourself and install the clips/tabs as I recall. Not a big deal, really, but you need to be careful on bending the small stainless bead line.

TeeBird Auto sells a direct fit product that is especially made for your application. They only sale 1955/56 Ford p***enger car parts and 1955-57 Thunderbird parts however.

I will admit that it has been three years since I purchased from either company but I had good success with both.

I completely agree what the Reverend has stated.
Bending the channels with the stainless bead is something that has to be done... slowly and carefully.
I found some tube channels that explained this and followed that advice.
My cars are 57's and the parts availability is far less than the 55-56 Ford.

    Good Luck!

I don't know if '56 is same or similar to '57, but for '57 channel.........Regarding the bending..........I bolted the correct outside-sized socket to a piece of plywood to do the bending around. Leave a few inches of extra channel to be trimmed off after the bend is done. much more accurate than trying to bend to the correct dimension.
Keep an eye on the fabric on the side walls of the channel, you may want to cut it if it starts pulling away from the channel, then re-glue afterward.
Does the '56 have the stainless little "gutter thingy" above the wing window? If so, the t******* to length after bending will be different....just ask
I got my channel at Cl***ic Auto Parts (Obsolete Ford) in Oklahoma City. They had the biggest selection of window channel/felt/strips/etc. of anybody at the time. All top quality, and I believe many items made sorta in-house as the owner also owns Dale Manufacturing.

Look at the Y619 and Y620 channel. One is rigid. I forget which. Measure up what you have.

Lots of other places have it too. Some will supply a 6' piece max. Some have 8' lengths. When I was done, I had like an 8" piece leftover.
