If I had to guess, the engine is probably in a restored Cord somewhere, and the rest of the car (in a considerably altered form) is running around with a SBC.

It was cool, although I always thought that V8's with the exhaust ports on top made for awkward looking exhaust systems.

hrm2k and rusty valley like this.
  5. Walt Rose's Cord-T. Like has been said car very likely lost its supercharged Cord V8 to a restoration. It would be super cool if it is sitting in a shed somewhere waiting to be found. The chassis used parallel leaf front, the moulded body and door cutouts would also be key identifiers.

  6. That car belongs to Walt Rose. Here is a signed picture that was purchased from him in 2007, at Hershey from a table he was at.
the picture was taken in 1948 at S.C.T.A. Road runners Picnic, Santa Anita Racetrack 1948.
The photo came with the stickers of the guys’ names by their cars. 4DA780F2-2115-43B1-AF68-69CBB6E72423.jpeg 4DA780F2-2115-43B1-AF68-69CBB6E72423.jpeg 4DA780F2-2115-43B1-AF68-69CBB6E72423.jpeg

...That bottom pic sure is a mirror or juxtaposition of reality maybe I'm wrong and it's an Auburn, was that intentional at the time or sheer coincidence...thanks for these historical dot connectors...they never cease to inspire the dream of what once was...

Hamber Jimmy, your knowledge and visual collection of History is always astonishing...thank you.

Funny I thought it was a Caddy flathead and quite the swirling turbine apparatus on top...must have turned many a head at the time...and the sound must have been pretty ominous...
