I've been looking into a Flathead 239 CID V8, or something similar to it. Where would the best place to buy one, preferably new.

Also, these motors come up all the time on the main auction sites. You can get a heck of a deal sometimes and have a motor ready to drop in for a very reasonable amount of money. I bought a 50 F3 for $200 and it had a great motor in it, just fired it up and it ran great, no smoke, no noise. It just takes some digging and looking. If you want to spend $5 grand or more you can buy one rebuilt and have all the papers/specs on it and maybe a warranty. Just depends. Good luck, going flat is a great experience and you will not be sorry.
