Like the title says, I am looking for a place to buy automotive carpet by the yard. I don't want to buy pre cut carpet. So where do all the upholster's here buy your carpet?
I just went through this, and got my carpet from Albrights Upholstery. I used an unbacked carpet, but they have all the other kinds. Good prices and shipping is reasonable.
Any upholstery shop can get it. If you want to go for it yourself, =the 'bay, Amazon, etc..... But, SMS fabrics is where I hunt first........
Just be careful with the Amazon/Ebay stuff. There is some junk out there! The stuff I used in my car looked good at first but doesn’t wear well. It’s thin and cheap feeling and I don’t like it. I used, what I think is called Daytona weave in the back package tray area and it looks nice. That actually came from an upholstery shop.
https://www.albrightssupply.com I've bought from them before. Fair prices and very friendly service. The gal who took my order had the cutest li'l southern accent
Closer to you and take a 3-1/2 hour ride down to go there. Make a day of it. No shipping, no folding it to ship, you get what you see and take it home. Gilbreth Auto Upholstery. https://upholsterysupply.com/ Right in Desmoines right off I 235 and they will have what you need. They have been around for a long time and have a zillion different colors and material types for you. All the auto shops around here use them and they've been around 65 Years....... before a classic became a classic.
TheHIGHLANDER beat me to it I also got my pad from them as well. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with, is that they folded the carpet, but I can take care of the wrinkles before I install it. I am overall very happy with the quality of the carpet as well as the pad and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
I was all excited to see this and then I clicked the link and saw this. - AUTO CARPET AUTO CARPET IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE Our availability of auto carpet styles is temporarily suspended. We apologize for the inconvenience, and will post updates as soon as stock becomes available.
