Having issues sorting this out.... I chopped my repop 32 shell 7 1/8 inches so naturally the insert must follow. I don't want to cut straight across the insert and have a noticeable line right in the middle of the bars. Would it be better to take the whole thing apart then remove the required length from the end of the grille bars? I've obviously never done this before, looking for a few pointers from those of you that have. Thanks!

Yes, you want to take all of the bars out...chop the frame and then shorten the bars to fit and then re-assemble.

BTW, my brother wants to "un-chop" an original shell. Do you want to part with the pieces you cut out of your repop shell?

    Thanks,

    Neal

I know this is an old thread, but here's the shell and insert after the chop. Still needs some massaging, but it came out well. Very tedious, but some good tunes, decent weather and the time flies by.
