Occasionally they turn up on Ebay, usually being sold by a relative of the tag owner after he died, or by someone who found one at an estate sale. If you're trying to find an original blank tag, forget it; you had to earn a timing tag in order to get one. Mike Gradis sells nice blank copies on Ebay. By the way, if you are using the name of the dry lake presently being used for time trials, It's El Mirage. not El Marage.
thanks for the spell check, i saw the repos on ebay, looking for an original used one, any ideas - what i'll end up paying for one.
Navarro used cut up his SCTA tags and use them as shims under the car!!!! Hahah!!! Wouldn't mind finding myself a RTA tag too!
Just another question, I got a repo plaque (like a club plaque), did they make such an item? What coolor would they be? I picked it up at a swap meet earlier this year and want to finish it. Thanks
I have plenty...Not for sell! I made one into a belt buckel. Freudiger and Cobbs had many. Infact I have one with a speed over 200mph in the 50's My granddfather was the first to break 200 at a russetta!
