Well im working on the roadster and i wondering how do i shorten the torque tube? The rear is out of a '54 chevy, so do i need to get the inner shaft cut and resplined? Is it hollow or a solid shaft? And where can i get it done, possibly close to the nj/ny/pa area. Dont know much about chevys so any info is appreciated.

the inner shaft is a tube and can be shortened....couple of us kids made a dune buggy out of a 40 Chevy in 59 and took the ball @ the u joint and welded it to the pumpkin (no driveshaft) and the ujoint yoke on the front of the inner shaft fit right on the pinion shaft at the carrier....surprised me.....it had a wheelbase of about 74" and was a real wheelstander
