different ways to do it...one way is to use the original 63-72 truck engine brackets, which turn the 250 into a small block V8 as far as how you bolt on motor mounts. Then you just get the stuff to swap in a V8 and you're done.

If you add those brackets to the block, then they are identical. Same bellhousing, etc. too.

Squirrel is correct, as usual. 6 cyl Chevy use the same basic mount configuration as the V8's. Then just get a SBC universal type mount. Nice thing is lot of kits to put a SBC into a 53 Chevy truck.

Or fab your own up and avoid the extra brackets. Lot of ways to mount an engine, but start with the engine near to correct placement and the motor mounts on engine if you want to use rubber mounts. You can also make rubber mounts with rubber bushing inside tubing. Then just figure out how to connect the frame of truck to the mounts. Allow room for exhaust and other stuff.

If no fab capability, spend the money and buy kit.

Hey squirrel, is that a "ugh" i don't like paying someone that much money for some metal brackets I can make at home or is that an "ugh" i don't like Chassis Engineering"? The only thing worse than buying something that I should of attempted to fabricate myself is buying something that turns out to be poor quality and than fabricating myself!

Maybe this is a chance to practice my welding....

ugh because I don't like the CE design for motor mounts. Some guys do...but I kind of understand why their mounts are designed the way they are, and it has more to do with selling universal kits, than with having a good design.

Alright, thanks guys. Some motor mounts and some research on a crossmember for the T5 and I think I'm ready to dive into the swap!
