where to measure from ?

where is the best place to measure caster from on a straight axle,,, center of axle , top of king pin ??????

i measure each side of the axle right on the king pin boss

Yep.
Get yourself one of those angle finder things if you don't have one yet.

Get the type with a magnet on the bottom, stick it on the side of the king pin boss.....and have fun.

I got mine at Lowes.
