I guess I'm the only one who would hazard a core exchange with Advance Auto Parts. I've always driven their crate motors thousands of miles, and had a good experience. I'm not willing to shell out a lot of cash for an engine to power a 2000 lb (or less ) vehicle. Just my 2 cents. It's a mere matter of priorities.

I'd go Ford Crate Engine, but same goes for a GM crate Engine. Go to your dealer

Try Jon Barrett Racing engines....Dyno'd and ready to install w/ warranty...Couple of guys have got the 383's and they run like stink and price was good...
Have used the Advanced/Auto Zone/Checker's motors as well, and no problem with them either....

driving your car like a mad ******* means the life of your engine will be short no matter what you buy, in my experance the less power they have the longer they last, i`m just trying to think if i ever had an engine that i didnt destroy, i'd say find yourself a nice 400m with low k's and a 2 barrel.
