I need to get a Vin check to register my 41 plymouth special deluxe. i see a plate riveted to the firewall, but its blank, theres another that sayd "body number" and has a number but its not even close to the same format as the VIN on the title. is the vin on the other tag and maybe just worn off? Are there any other locations i could look?

I am not familiar with the '41 Mopars, but from previous posts for various Hamb'ers cars, a common location seems to be on top of the frame, in front of the firewall body mount. You may have to clean off a couple pounds of grease and dirt, but at least it's a start. Try the passenger side first.

I believe a lot of cars actually used their engine number. Not much good on a rod!

  4. On the Super Deluxe model (P12) the vin is located on the right front door post.

  5. post the numbers you have on your title and somebody could tell you if they are engine numbers or ....

the numbers on my title are like 113503500 (maybe not those numbers exactly, thats just off the top of my head, but its close). I looked at my engine numbers already, they're *p12*454733*.

Glad you found it! Today I just came across a Mopar parts site that said '42 and earlier is right front forward doorpost, and '46 and later is left front forward doorpost.
