Yep - Hurst - Hotrodrubber here on the HAMB.
My 3rd set of Pie crust recaps are on their way as we speak!
Abused the hell out of the last pair, couldn't believe how long it took to kill 'em - imagine my surprise when I pulled 'em off and found the drivers side had two shetmetal screws stuck in it! They still held air, rode fine, but the casings are now a bit long in the tooth, and I wanted to go bigger - Cory confirmed that was the better choice for my wheel size too.
    Top product, good service.

Um ... regarding the Hurst tires. The web page linked includes the following text:

I don't know if I would want tires that the manufacturer calls "not suitable for normal highway use" on a car I plan to drive on the street, but maybe that's just me.

    Disclaimer: I'm a noob.

Another vote for Hurst! I've used them on a couple of builds, good quality, great guys to deal with. shmoozo- that warning is something that the government requires on altered tires. It doesn't mean that the quality isn't good, just that they don't consider Cheater slicks safe. And in the hands of about 90% of the world, nothing is! Hell Honda accords should be stamped with a similar warning!

Totally suitable for normal use - I've done lots of street miles on 'em I live 30 miles from work, numerous trips to Bakersfield, Ventura, Paso - no worries, rain is the only concern - drive a little slower if it's too wet!
Other than that they handle like regular Radials, cause that's what the casings are.

  10. man - my hurst tires are nice but they are freaking heavy - the packing slip with two of them taped together said 98 lbs - I am worried they are so heavy

The customer service is great! Cody says what he does and does what he says.
I got a great deal and would buy another pair of WWW Cheaters.

Mine are M&H rears came from Radir. The front U.S. Royals came from them too. Coker has a VAST selection too. Mine were on the car when I bought it.

I gotta set of the Firestone 10.0 -15 from Coker. Their marked "DOT Approved", so legal for street use.

You might try Hurst or Wallace Wade out of Dallas

  21. The cap is separating from the casing. I sent them back and he ground off the side where it was pulling away and said they were fine, but now there is a crack running all the way around both tires! I'll post some pics later. For what it's worth, mine were an early set from when they first started advertising on the hamb. I wanted to support a hamb member, but now I regret it. Others have had success with them, but I have not. Haven't heard and bad words about the radirs as they are a one piece, new tire. I'm gonna see what they offer...

I've had 2 pair from Hotrodrubber (Hurst) No complaints. Gary

  23. I talked with both Hurst and Coker before pulling the trigger on a pair of Firestones from Coker. I'll definitely give Hurst some business in the future b/c they were very helpful and not the least bit pushy. The Hursts offer that "square-shouldered" pie crust look which looks very vintage, but the new, DOT approved aspect of the Firestones coupled with the HAMB Alliance discount proved just too hard to resist. The Firestones look great, albeit a little less traditional than the Cokers. Hope this helps.

This is what the beads look like on the tires that NEGATIVEMATT sent back....

I will not warranty tires that have been improperly installed , many times this is what will cause "ANY TIRE TO FAIL"

Make sure to lube your beads and take to a "BETTER" tire shop that knows how to not cause damage

  26. I used Radir's on my 32 coupe and was really happy with them. Never tried the Hurst tires.

  27. you know as well as i do that that had nothing to do with the cap coming off of these tires. the tires you sent me are crap. bad bead or not. i'm just informing people of the product you sold me. you said they'd be fine to run with tubes, but even after you "trimmed" off the areas that were peeling back, they now have a crack ALL THE WAY AROUND. and all this on tires that had NEVER BEEN DRIVEN ON. heck, it spent most of it's time on jackstands!but, i learned my lesson. i'm sure if the bead hadn't crumbled, i'd still be stuck with them cause you said they were fine other than the bad bead, but now they're still coming apart?? anyway, it's my right to do with these what i choose, and i choose to show them to anyone who'll look and see what kinda of product they are. heck, until now, i never even mentioned you "painted" the white wall on with a brush!! so, get mad, accuse me of something i didn't do, whatever......all i know, i took a chance with your company when you first started on the hamb. i had a problem, unfortunately, these beads came apart, although it has nothing to do with the separation, but that gave you a reason not to warranty them. ok, i'm out of luck, no biggie. i'll replace them with something better and move on, but i'll still let people know to beware...

I have a new set of Diamondback cheater slicks that I like real well. They are made from a new Michelin truck carcass. The tread pattern works in the rain, and still hooks up well on dry pavement. I have three sets of tires from Diamondback,All of them are better than any Cokers I ever had.
