    Does my possibly...new car...fit ?

A 1959 British car, rebuilt into a drag racer. Built about 20 years ago. Chrysler (440, Torqueflight) running gear.
    Semi-gloss paint, old Weldwheels, wheels.

I read them once, but I sure can't find them when I'm looking for them.

There's something in there about foreign cars, but there seem to be some exceptions for proper drag racing cars (ie. they don't retain much of their original stuff)

Maybe I'll have to bookmark the link to the rules, when someone posts it.

If you post a picture of the car and the thread gets deleted you have your answer. That’s my litmus test

yes, foreign cars that were traditionally used as drag cars back in the period we cover here are ok to post, that is what I said above in my previous reply , I also said that Weld wheels of any kind are off topic here....

Back in the 60s, there was a big Healey that ran in the Gasser class at Harriman dragstrip in Tennessee. SBC for power, and that car went every direction but straight every time it ran. I expected the driver to die every time it ran. Crazy.

Show a picture at an angle so the wheels can't be seen.

Don’t replace the Weldwheels (which can look old style) with Centerlines…they are a no-no big time.

    Toppolino's vs vintage Ferrari's :D

Out of curiosity, what is the rule on Foreign Cars that were drag raced on tracks outside the USA [eg: Holdens in Australia]
In NZ there were USA, Australian and English Fords that were drag raced

Here is a dragster that used 2 x English Zephyr 6 cylinder engines to make a flat 12

  15. Austin’s were made in the US from 1930-34 By the American Austin Car Co. They were acquired in 1936 by the firm that became American Bantam Car Co.
Just pointing that out…. I enjoyed seeing any little car with a big American v8 tear down the track. Win or loose they were always exciting to see!

People forget that the Cobra started out as a foreign car. And Anglia's were Fords.

I don't know too much about it, except it had 2 crankshafts and a common drive between them. It wasn't too successful
Here is a close up of the engine

It was built by 2 brothers Barry and Graeme McConnachie [they were quite young at that time]

    upload_2023-11-10_19-2-23.png

They started out dirt track racing
Here is Barry with an "English" Mk2 Zephyr dirt track car

And racing a Ford "Pop" [Anglia] gasser

Barry moved to California, and was sadly killed in an ATV racing accident [R.I.P Barry]
