Started out as a $20 brake job, one month & $450 later, I've finally have the upgraded to rear discs. Had to change rearends (because I couldn't remove the spider gear pin out of the old one) and shorten the driveshaft and replace all the bearings along the way and removed a leaf to drop it just a bit but over all I think it looks pretty good. The discs are from a 98-02 LS1 & the rearend is an early 70's Camaro.
CONGRATS!!! Good feeling to get through something like that and and call it done. I feel your pain. My "$20 brake job" for my 50 sedan turned into just about the same thing when I ended up swapping out the rear for that of a 81 TransAm.....Happy about the discs, just not sure how I'm going to rig up the E-Brake handle/cables.
I used Lokar cables & a floor mounted bracket. Could have used the cables that came with it but I already had purchased the Lokar setup. It was an easy install once I modified the clevis.
your truck seems confused. patina, pinstrpiing.... and donk wheels. poor thing just doesnt know what it wants to be in life.
I fergot the year, but Pontiac offered disc brakes on the rear of the t/a, I think it was 78 or 79, it was a 1 year only thing - is that what you used ?
