Planning a 50th birthday trip this summer for myself and wife and want to cruise around California and time it with some of the bigger car shows. Would like to hear what fellow Hambers recommend to go see. Is the La roadsters show worth seeing? Have heard it used to be bigger and better, also that it is great. So not sure what to think. Any of the Goodguys events in Cali worthy? Any other big shows? Any that fall in the same week on opposite weekends in the summer? Have looked on socalcarculture but seem to be a local shows. Thanks for input.
LA Roadster is still the Biggest and Best Hot Rod only show in So Cal by far, if not the country. End of story. So Cal the only GoodyGuys events left are in San Diego - April (I think and Thanksgiving) The Pleasanton Good Guys shows (Central CA) are good. Cruisn for a Cure in Sept is the largest single day car show anywhere, but it is ALL cars.
depending on the length of your cuffs the Goodguys Pleasanton show in August is a good one. Billetproof in Antioch shouldn't be missed... when is that one? September? not sure. where and when will you be here? California is a big state.
if its anything like last year, bring sunscreen, sombrero, water, tree's, ezup, camel, and so on. but other than that it was great. billetproof in Antioch is also a great show
Not sure when we are going yet. Planning accordingly to some good car shows. Leaning towards June and la roadsters show so far as a start. Take a spin thru Peterson museum is a must, Bobs big boy cruise, then would like to go see So Cal to San Francisco I guess. Make a trip to Big sur area, Carmel by sea and to Yosemite.
If you dig customs then Santa Maria Memorial Day weekend. If you want all around show/swap meet/shop tours then LA Roadster Show is hard to beat. MArcy
I just posted the 2013 Car Show Calendar for Northern California: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=768802 Shows I would recommend, Strangers BBQ, Road Zombies BBQ, Billetproof, Midnight M***, Dragoons Car Show.... those are the biggies IMO. I am not into the 'Greedy-Guys' events but if that's your thing, they have a Summer Get Together that is on the calendar.
