A few years ago, I stopped by my Mom's place to check on her because she said she had taken a fall that morning. When I got there it was obvious she had broken her finger. Had to take her to the Emergency Room in this... ...she wasn't happy about that.
Hahahaha, My Mom no longer drives after an accident she had in January, I take her where she needs to go....
I know the parking lot there and the way other people park... The corvette is a little skinnier so that is the main reason why I took it
Mark, me just being nosey, and you can tell me it's none of my business if you like, do you have all the cars in your collection registered and insured for the road? If you do then THAT would present a major dilemma!
The blue 55, the green 55, the 56, the 40 coupe, the 61 vette, the 61 Impala my off topic 66 SS396 chevelle and my candy flamed lowered S10, along with my Crew cab dually pickup and my daily beater HHR are all registered and insured and every one of them gets used regularly. that is 10 cars....
All I have Mark is wow! I have 4, and not all on topic, but it does get to be a pain sometimes rotating the fleet so they all can be kept in a running state. That must be like a full time job for you!
Are you paying a huge insurance bill? I had been paying too much for two liability-only insured cars.
it is higher than I want it to be but so is everything else. The old cars have collector car insurance and while it has a mileage limit it is pretty reasonably priced
Me too, I'm still jealous of the deal that was had on that car, and what a peach it turned out to be!
That Corvette would have been my choice, too. Hello, Moms are funny people. They all grew up watching and caring for their little guys running around all over the house and yard for years. Whether it was guidance or constant gabbing over a nice breakfast daily, it was the way of the parents ways of doing things. At the time, since our dad left for work early, and my brother was either in the yard playing early, or as a teen, away as usual, I was always around to get the “Words of Wisdom,” from my own mom, sitting across from her over a nice breakfast. Whether or not the “words” stuck, that remains to be seen. But, one wonders if it always worked in the sub-conscious realm, as we grew up being nice to others along the way… It was a constant barrage of words in a conversation that probably stuck to last forever! Yikes… Our mom was funny. As teenagers with cars, she never liked lowered cars or hot rods in general. The only reason she liked a black 34 Ford 5 window coupe with a powerful, loud Oldsmobile motor was that she liked the owner and thought the world of him. So, the noisy old hot rod would be a part of the “like” package. Sometimes it was so bad that instead of getting a ride to the downtown area of Long Beach, she would take the city bus service that was on the next block, instead of getting a ride in my brother’s lowered 51 Oldsmobile. That was determination and silly all at the same time. Jnaki But, the odd thing was, as much as she absolutely hated the 40 Willys Coupe build and the powerful 671 SBC motor, she went along as it was something “her” two sons were doing together. That was a good thing in her eyes. But the hot rod/drag race stuff? Well, not so much. At least, she always brought us a nice sandwich + drinks as a late night snack or afternoon snack for her two sons working nicely together. Ha! It was not until that she actually liked riding around in the nice black 58 Impala to the store or visiting her friends, if I took her there. When she learned to drive, the powerful 58 motor and C&O stick shift hydro was just a perfect set up for our hot rod/drag race needs and her “stick in the key” and be off on her local shopping or visits at her friend’s houses. An old lady driving around in the powerful 58 Impala was a sight to see, for us and car loads of teenagers when they came across an old lady sitting at a stop light, hands glued to the steering wheel. Note: As much as she liked driving in the 58 Impala with the C&O Stick Hydro, later on, she would not go anywhere in my 327 powered, 40 Ford Sedan Delivery, even though it had A/C and great adjustable bucket seats. 80 year old moms and grandmothers can be picky and stubborn… YRMV
