my 35 3w has a 59ab that was installed in the 50's they use the distributor from the gennie motor. i have a complete crab style distributor from another 59ab. have the grill and radiator out wondering if i should switch the distributor now?? the gennie distributor has been rubbing on the radiator. anyone got an opinion??

That's the major reason I swapped to a crab, and I have 21 stud so had to change covers too. Although I have since re-newed a helmet type dist for use someday on another, the coil price is outa site and with the conversion kit costing 40 bucks... why bother.
I can say there were two points available the cheaper $17 ones are ****ty. Pay more for the better ones or as I did cleaned up the old genuines and use them
