I am trying to decide which caps look better on my 56 Buick Century. Which ones you think look best?

I know I need a set of wide whites for this car. So if any one had a set of good 215/75/15 wide whites for sale in So Cal, PM me please.

First set is the original caps.

This set is from my 52 Caddy project.

I like the original set better but they need the red centers and also wide whitewalls.

I like 'em both but I think the original's could be cool with the white walls. Maybe a bullet or 4 bar Dodge Lancer-esque spinners would be rad on them too!

I too prefer the originals in the first photo. I'd like to see what it would also look like with the repo lancer caps that have the bullet in the center.

Although I'm not a fan of the original caps (have the same car), I like them over the Caddys.

By the way, what are you lowered on?

Either caps with bullets would look good. These are later model Cadi Hubcaps with 5.375 bullets I got from Mooneyes.

I am a little surprised at the results so far. I would have thought the Caddy caps would have been the favorite. I have been thinking Lancer caps would look really cool as well. The other choice would be 57 Caddy caps, but they are sold out at hubcap mikes. To boot the wife jsut told me to stop being such a tightwad and go find some wide white tires. God I love her.

Beautiful car! I like 'em both (slight edge to the '52 Caddys), also like '57 Caddy covers. Lancers are so common with repops, they've kinda lost their appeal.

i'd leave the Original ones on the more-door, and use the Caddy ones on the Caddy. A friend of mine ran Fiesta on his Buick - black primer Nosed and decked driver. Look good.

Since that car is more on the Stock side I'd go with the stock hubcaps. Ill take the Caddy hubcaps off your hands though ;)

I like the originals better, but what I think doesn't mean a damn thing, it's your car, run the caps that YOU like.

    Love the car BTW

    Thanks.

The problem is that I am torn. Not in love with those Caddy caps and I do not want stock caps. Looking for something a little custom. I am trying to hit a look of what a kid would have done to make the fmaily 4 door look cool in the late 50's after Dad gave it to him when he bought a new Radmaster.

I agree the stock caps, and I think the reason is, there isn't a dramatic difference from the stockers to the Caddys appearancewise, so why not just stay with the Buicks. Now if you were talking about chrome reverse wheels and baby moons, that might be a different outcome.

Back in the late '60's, when I worked in a gas station, a lot of guys with those old Buicks ran chrome reverse with thin whitewalls.

Well, I know it's been done a lot of times before, but what about some spinner caps? They were the hot thing back in the day...

I'd say the orginals with a crome bullet in the center to cover up the buick insignia

Whatever you run be carfull about the RADIAL tires on the STOCK wheels.

The Original wheels were not Manufactured for the Flex of a Radial tire & will often Kick the Hub Caps clean off at any givin moment.

They can also make the Caps "WALK" on the wheel & eventually cuts or Pulls the Valvestem from its Hole.

Just a Heads Up, I know there will be a Thousand guys here that say I am Wrong cus they have Radials on Old wheels ..... But I have seen this several times First Hand .

Wow Never heard that. Will have to watch for that. Thanks.

I had not thought about chrome reverse wheels. Will have to look for a pic of some on a 56 Buick. Thanks to everyone that gave opinions.

I now have some things to think about.

Put some fiesta 3 bar spinners on those originals and you will have it for sure!

    Originals, with correct width whitewalls.

Buick had a pretty cool spinner for those wheelcovers you see on occasion. Wonder how difficult it would be to add two more blades to them....
