if you had to choose a model A ch***is (complete less motor and trans and wheels and tires) which company would you buy from? I am thinking of getting a complete ch***is and drop in a 289 5 speed and droping my stock model A body on it (I know I will have to do something to the fire wall). My stocker 4 cyl is losing its center main and I checked prices for what I want in a rebuilt motor and they seem to run from around $4,000.00 to $6,000.00 to rebuild the 4 cylinder. At that price I am thinking about going modern so I can use it as my daily driver. I am thinking for a few more thousand dollars than the cost of the 4 cyl rebuild It could be done. thanks for any and all input.

  2. TCI has been building Model A frames since 1974. They have it down to a science. Even if you don't buy one of their frames you should go out to their facility and see what they can do for you.

Glad to read you plan to keep it Ford powered. Check to be sure the new ch***is doesn't have a rear kick up, unless you don't mind the work cutting out your floor pans to allow the stock body to fit.

I got mine from Derrek at Boling Brothers. You can get anything from a perimeter to full ch***is build. They offer other combinations not listed on the website.

  5. There's always the one Henry made. Boxing plates cost about $100. If you're just looking to update the engine for more reliability, there's no reason you can't work with what you already have.
