YEP with the diesel prices WAY outa hand I need a daily driver. Yall know I have a 3 year old and need gas milage. Well the 32 is to radical to pull up to one of my customers so what do I build ? I have 3 . First the Anglia !!!
Do the Five-Five! If your have to haul customers around once in a while what could have more room! Decent ride quality, and drop dead looks!
Model A!! Hell its alot further along than mine is! Put a Man-A-Fre or new Offy 4x2 setup on that 283. Looks damn cool and no one else is doing it. Keep us posted! -Dean
Oh what a dilema having to much cool **** and not knowing where to start! That must be hard I feel sorry for you!!
Mileage...HA! If ya wanna play, ya gotta pay! I'd do the '55...a nice, stock 350" and a 700R-4 is gonna get you your best mileage...forget the 283" (too small without "building" it) and a 307 is a known gas guzzler. My '57 Chevy gets 20-21 on the highway...it's got a new 350" crate motor (not the ZZ version), and a 2:20 low BW 4-speed...runs thru a 3:35 rear...with the A/C on it goes down the highway at 2800 RPM's. You can haul your 3 year old and your customers at the same time... R-
First the Anglia !!![/QUOTE] why bother with the other 2......a banger and a 5 gear ....make a fun driver with good gas mileage to boot....or throw that small block you got laying around ....and throw in a set of 350 gears....... a little partial to the brit.....brandon
I like the A small lighter 283 with three carbs. OH wait gas milage uhhh block off two carbs! You are a lucky man!
so what exactly is your 32 to radical for that any of those three wouldnt be just as crazy for? just wonderin, might help with picking one
We had a 283 in Dirty31's coupe ant it got aroung 20mph going to paso. I feel I can get better with a 4 bbl and some tweeking.
Put a 235 w/ a 4 speed in the 55 - good family cruiser, nice with the customers & with the 6 you get alittle fuel economy.
A fiew of my customers I have to go thru securty and it is loud and causes there employes to stop working and come check it out ! You know how garages are.
