I'm with the "Old Fart", I like shirts with a little something on the left breast area and on the back, and I like color so the 1st. FWIW, Mitch

The shadowing and highlights on the color one are more exciting than the b & w version...but the colors, although they pop, don't make much sense to me.
Hope you don't mind, but I took your color version and converted it to Greyscale...for perhaps version 3 ? 0.995.jpg

What’s not to love about a t-shirt with a 31 Model A pickup on it. Either version is good, just think the Text font is too generic looking.

Everybody has so many different ideas of what they like a shirt to be, and there are a million different ways to do this, so these are just my thoughts, based upon my 25 years of doing the shirts for the seaplane base out at Oshkosh Wisconsin.

    IMG_1450 (2).JPG

For Matt's design, these are a few suggestions.
The popular sizes are LARGE, EXTRA LARGE, and DOUBLE EXTRA LARGE.
Don't even bother with medium or smalls, its not worth the h***le.

Don't get ****ed into trying to print shirts with a pocket, it limits the size of the print image on the front of the shirt, and it complicates the printing process as well.

Being that we are from the Pacific Northwest, and most of the time, wearing a jacket is normal, print the design on the front of the shirt, so that it can be seen, when the jacket isn't zipped up the front. Print it large at 12" X 13" on the front. The bigger the better, max it out!
    You wont be disappointed!

I know, I know, there are those that insist on the tiny print on the front, and the bigger print on the back, but you can't please everybody. Once you get into double sided printing, it gets expensive, very quickly, so avoid that h***le all together.

For Matt's design, the basic white ink on a black, preshrunk, 100% cotton, high quality shirt, is going to be the best way to go, when considering the final price of the garment plus the element of packaging and shipping.

One has to consider the consumer, and what the consumer will pay for a high quality garment. In my experience, these two suggested rules, are paramount, when it comes to the realm of T-Shirts.

    1. Spare no expense on the quality of the type and weight of the shirt chosen to be printed.
    2. Spare no expense on the quality of the printing of the shirt, do your research and go with a printer that has a good reputation.

Matt has already been playing with design, so that cuts out having to have an artist, do a design for him.
It's going to be interesting to see the final product and the price.

However Matt accomplishes this, I am confident its going to be kick *** and very much in demand!
    Thanks from Dennis.

Why not both? Black and white for a small "pocket" logo on the front, and full colour for a large logo on the back. ;)

Either one is nice. Just put it on the back of the shirt.

I like the black and white, below is my favorite Tshirt design ever, but I don't think they are available anymore

  12. Second design, black on a grey shirt..... Too many 'specialty' shirts are black and they all blend together. Be a little different and stand out in the crowd.

Color not more expensive. Look at VISTAPRINT. My 2 side color cost about $11 each
They also have business pricing. Your art is retained on the website for future orders.

    Hello,

I have quite a few black t-shirts in my daily wear collection. Most of them have white/silver lettering and a simple photo. I like your idea of the black with white lettering and the old truck print. But, it looks like a photo that is missing something… Perhaps, you or someone could do an outline drawing of the truck by itself without looking like a negative from your logo photo.

If a simple white/silver line drawing of the old truck were done, then it would be simple, but original without any implications of a copied photo or computer modified photo.

One of my favorite shirts is from Kustomrama. The shirt sees a weekly rotation with all of my other shirts and the ink is holding up well.

Since you are asking, I would buy a nice black T-Shirt, but the simple single line drawing instead of a modified photo would be more to the originality of designs. And definitely, no pockets of any kind. YRMV

I would draw a simple white/silver outline drawing of your truck, but I cannot draw ¾ angle artwork. It must be something about depth perception…ha!

Maybe, one of the fabulous artists here on the HAMB can draw a simple white/silver outline of your truck in exchange for a free T-Shirt???

Having done t-shirt designs for over 40 years, EVERYTHING Dennis posted is well thought out and "right-on-the-money".
...and printin on the front helps hide the "moobs" on us slightly portly gentlemen:eek:;)

The black and white one would make for a sharp dressed man. And we all know who likes those:cool:

Really? Because before my doctor interviended, my fat *** moobs used to stretch the VWs on my shirts into UFO shaped, amorphous blobs with oval tires. :D:D:D.

Of course, I may have been a little more than "portly" back in those days. :p

But, I will tell you a pet peeve of mine. T-shirts (usually the black or navy blue ones) printed with multi color art, with so much ink that they can't "breathe", so you sweat under the printed part.

That's why I love the HAMB shirts so much. The way they are printed, you can't even feel the artwork. Almost like it's made into the fabric or something.:cool::cool:

Jack and Dennis offer up some great advice. Personally I'm not fond of pocket tees anyway. So there's that. I do much prefer the printing on the back of the shirt. It must be a personality defect on my part, but I hate when someone is walking toward me they are staring at the image, trying to see what it says instead of looking me in the eye. Just me.

The colored one is more interesting, pleasing to the eye. Black and white tends to be lost in the sea of a million other black and white logos that are so popular these days. I feel the m***es eyes just gloss over.

    Good luck with everything!

Thanks guys! I can't respond to everyone. But I really appreciate the feedback. I should note that none of the fonts are set and I'm just messing around so far. I definitely want the truck to be more of a line drawing like mentioned above. I need a different program to accomplish that unfortunately. This is all being done on my phone. So I am somewhat limited. I'll check back with you guys once I have a more final version. Thanks!
