  2. On the "OLD" P.G.'s, reverse is at the bottom of the shift pattern, where on the TH 350, reverse is next to park position.
Am wondering if the old P.G. column would even be workable, knowing the different positions of reverse, between the two applications.

The Hurst Quarter Sticks, and B & M's version, are very good shifters, but are primarily race type shifters. In an older car, getting down low enough to flip the reverse lock out lever is difficult, especially with seat belts on. Racers usually put them on a "stand" to bring them closer. And, they're a cable shifter; there goes the old school method of mechanical linkage. The newest versions of those shifters have a pistol grip type of shifter handle, another thing that does't fit well in an older car. The older style models are still available however, and, they come with neutral safety switches and backup light provision. It's why I brought up the Hurst Auto Stick 1, strictly mechanical linkage, and the Tri-Five vendors even offer a stock switch that can be used on the transmission pan rail so you have a workable neutral safety switch and backup lights. If Hurst would make those shifters again, they could't keep them on the shelves. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

  5. I'm using a short Lokar, floor mounted, not much room in the Model A, it works well. My 6 year old grandson at the wheel!!

I use a B&M Quicksilver. Used a smaller console and black shifter knob to make it look similar to an old hydramatic shifter.
