Technical Which way does the weather seal face on the trunk of 1950 Ford

    is right. The idea of design,is so any flow or PSI from out side,makes it seal more,by adding push to the flap.

    Every trunk seal I ever installed I put the curved edge pointing towards the outside of the car. And any originals I replaced were installed that way, regardless of make of the car..
     
  5. Agree with all above. Installed this way will allow air pressure in the trunk to escape more easily when closing the deck lid. It will also help press the seal more tightly to the body to keep out water when rinsing off the car with a hose or going thru a car wash. Think about the way the lip of a seal faces on a rear main or timing cover seal.

    Don't disagree but why would Carpenter show it opposite way? Guess they need to be ask that question.
