Well got the motor mounts all buttoned up tonight. MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE and MEASURE again! Pops came over to help me out.....Got them cut out, grinded down, all measured up and fully welded in. Still have to drop the motor back down into the mounts but it got too late and 5 1/2 hrs was plenty of work for the night. Heres some pics.....

Ok maybe I wasnt done. I went ahead and got the motor dropped in to see what she looked like with the car on the ground and the carbs and valve covers sitting on there. Still ALOT of stuff to do but its starting to look like a car. Get some headers, distrib, ignition etc and she will really start coming together!!! Well its after midnight here and Im gonna hit the sack...seeing the motor in the car was a HUGE inspiration for me! The pic quality isnt great but you get the idea....

  17. I like this build, you are getting it done. It is great you have the great help/support of your dad. I wouldn't get terribly hung up on "traditional", if you run disc brakes, electric, fan, a/c, power windows, tilt steering, or whatever, it is your choice-it is your car. First and foremost it has to make sense to you, and what your purpose of building it are. You obviously have put a lot of time, money, and thought into this. The use of old ideas/components and new ideas/components coming together, are what create the "traditional" rod for the future generation. Hot rodders have always sought out and used the best available components they could find at the time. I appreciate the look, you are going after, and you are nailing it. Gods Speed.

  18. That's what I was thinking...
But I am not sure how big the distributors on the SBCs are!!

Yep - it looks like you are going to have to recess the firewall. Mine fit because I didn't have a heavy channel (only 1" in front).
Looks great! Keep up the good work!!
