Technical white fender wells and carpet sets

I tried to post this earlier. Didn't see it come up. Trying again. I have two questions. Thought it would be just as easy to ask them on one thread. 1-when did white fender wells come to be? 2-is there a good place to get a carpet set for a '40 Ford coupe? Thanks, Gene.

 

Well.. I painted my front and rear fender wells on my 51 Chevy in 1961. Some of the guys with the money had vinyl ones made so they could unsnap them to wash. When mine got to dirty to wash, I just pained them again. One guy I knew has a red 1957 Cad Convert that was lowered and had them in white canvas in the front wheel wells. Every time I saw that car I got a woody

PS I'm thinking of doing that same thing on the car again. I thought it was sooooo cool.

my T is early 60's style. I have wheel pants ( upholstered ) for the rear wheel wells. It was more of a custom touch..........

 

Even though upholstered fender wells or very cool, I don't plan on going that far. Just trying to decide between black or white for mine. Car is orange. Trying to do things correct for about '67.

 

Very nice 26-27 T Coupe. I restored one years ago.

 

Still no info on a carpet set?

 

How about a place to get rubber mat style floor covering?
